Government Diploma in Co-operation and Accountancy (G.D.C. & A.) is a diploma offered by G.D.C. & A. Board, Department of Co-operation, Government of Maharashtra to provide skilled professionals to the ever-growing Co-operative Sector. This diploma provides in-depth theoretical and functional knowledge of managing Co-operative Housing / Premises Societies with an added advantage of a Government Diploma. It empowers an individual to build a career in Co-op Sector with confidence.

EXAM FAQs:

1.INTERVAL & MODE OF EXAMINATION:

G.D.C. & A. Exam is conducted once a year i.e. in the month of May in offline (Pen-Paper) Mode

2. EXAM ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

A graduate from any recognised University or S.S.C. passed persons who have at least 5 years’

experience of working in Co-operation department of Government or in any Co-operative Organisation /

Society / Institution and are likely to be made permanent in the organisation are eligible to appear for the

exam.

3. APPLICATION FORM AVAILABILITY:

The Application Form is available online at ‘gdca.maharashtra.gov.in’ from the month of February 2026.

4. EXAM FEES:

Exam Fees would be Rs. 800 (as prescribed by G.D.C. & A. Board, Pune, Maharashtra).

5. SYSTEM OF CONDUCTING EXAMINATION:

Generally, the exam is conducted on Friday, Saturday & Sunday. 2 Subjects Daily.

6. LANGUAGE OPTION TO ATTEND EXAMINATION:

Candidate can give the exam either in English or Marathi.

7. SUBJECTS OF THE EXAM:

There are six subjects to be studied for the exam. They are:

1. Management of Co-operative Housing Societies

2. Accounts

3. Auditing

4. History, Principles and Management in Co-operation.

5. Co-operative Laws and other Laws.

6. Co-operative Banking and Credit Societies.

8. CAREER PROSPECTS AFTER PASSING THE EXAMINATION:

After passing the G.D.C. & A. Exam, you can:

1. Work as a Manager to Co-operative Housing or Premises Society

2. Practice as a Consultant to Co-operative Housing or Premises Society

3. Get promotions if you work in a Co-operative Bank or Credit Society

4. Can practice as a Panel Auditor, but provided you have to work under an Auditor for a period of 3 years

to get that designation.
